Protecting the environment and looking after out surroundings is more important than ever before.
All three of our garden centres have already managed to accomplish big things; solar panels, LED lighting, sustainable local plant sourcing, FSC-approved timber, local food sourcing, cardboard baler, sustainable bags, compostable disposable goods, promotion of pollinators, peat-free compost, charity of the year, free waste coffee grounds.
With the addition of our Dunbar Garden Centre installing electric car charging, biomass boiler, rainwater collection and a Rovero roof over the plant area.
Peat Free Policy
We’re on a mission to go completely peat-free. Read out full peat policy to understand our decision and how we can help you on the same journey.

Shades Of Green
We’re already very proud of the steps we have taken to become more sustainable. But as always, there is more that we can do to help.
Read through our Shades of Green policy to see our accomplishments so far and our future plans.

Saving Water
Within all areas of the business, we try to limit our water usage.
We strongly encourage all of our customers to invest in a water butt, and to take advantage of the UK weather! Did you know on average 10,000 litres fall on our house roofs each year?

Recycling
Reduce, reuse, recycle is a strong message throughout all of our garden centres.
We work with local recycling companies to ensure all waste products are correctly recycled.
As well as this, we have an onsite cardboard baler.

Composting
We offer free waste coffee grounds from our restaurants in all of our garden centres.
They’re perfect for improving soil structure, deterring insects and providing nutrients to your plants.

Food Waste
We work hard to ensure our busy restaurants have very little wastage.
As a company we’re working hard to separate food waste, with the hopes of being able to create our own compost.

Charity of the Year
Each year our teams have the hard task of picking a charity of the year to support.

Seeds for Schools
Our Seeds for Schools imitative is our most recent exciting venture.
We believe that all children should have access to learn about the great outdoors and the world of gardening.

Budding Botanists
Budding Botanists, is our quarterly children’s gardening club.
Each session focuses on different aspects of gardening and the outdoors; so far we have made bug hotels, planted sunflower seeds and created mini gardens to name a few!

Local Suppliers
Our farm shops and restaurants are jammed packed with local suppliers.
We’re lucky to live in an area where we are spoilt for choice when it comes to top quality produce.
Buying local not only supports our local economy but it also means significantly lower food milage.

Health & Wellbeing
Did you know three hours of moderate gardening burns the same amount of calories than a one hour gym session?
