About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, commercially minded Farm Shop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of our busy and successful Farm Shop.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for food retail, exceptional customer service, and team leadership. Working closely with the Garden Centre Manager, you will be responsible for delivering an outstanding shopping experience, driving sales performance, maintaining high retail standards, and leading a motivated team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing our farm shop offering, promoting local and quality produce, and ensuring the business continues to grow while maintaining the excellent reputation of the Garden Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Farm Shop
• Buying in produce that is sold in the Farm Shop
• Drive sales and maximise profitability through effective retail management
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
• Manage stock purchasing, stock control, rotation and waste reduction
• Source, price and merchandise a diverse range of quality food products
• Create attractive displays that enhance the customer experience
• Plan and deliver promotional events and seasonal campaigns
• Monitor budgets, cash management and administrative processes
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and product availability
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth
• Support the Garden Centre Manager with wider centre operations as required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of achieving sales targets
• Experience of visual merchandising and product presentation
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong organisational and planning abilities
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to undertake light lifting and carrying
• Comfortable standing for extended periods during shifts
