Baker
An opportunity exists for a full time Baker to join our team at Berwick Garden Centre Restaurant. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who thrives under pressure to join our kitchen team in the production of tasty produce for our restaurant and farm shop.
The Role
This is a business critical role to work as part of a small bakery team and assist the Catering Manager provide an excellent experience for our customers.
The Baker will have a responsibility to produce customer favourites but will have significant scope for new creations and specials.
This role will include the preparation of scones, cakes, traybakes, meringues, cream cakes, desserts and occasionally assist the kitchen with savouries and pastry.
This is a permanent role 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7. Remuneration dependant on experience.
The Candidate
We are proud of the fact that all our food is produced on site using fresh and local produce where possible, so you will have a similar passion and can demonstrate a knowledge of good homestyle baking.
You will be an effective communicator and a team player who will be comfortable working at pace to high standard.
You will have a positive attitude and drive with a natural affinity with team orientation.
You will be professional, reliable and a good time-keeper. The role can be demanding at peak times due to the nature of our business and you therefore must be able to deal with the rigours of this type of catering environment.
You will also have a good working knowledge of record keeping requirements, allergens and either have or be willing to achieve Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification.
