2026 Charities of the Year

17 February 2026

Our teams were once again tasked with the difficult decision of choosing one charity per centre to support in 2026. With so many amazing charities in our local areas, it’s always a big decision to make.

We’ve found that by choosing one charity per garden centre to focus on, it allows us to pour all of our time, effort and resources into making a real impact. In 2025, we organised numerous raffles, charity Christmas trees and even a beetle drive.

Each of these charities plays a vital role within our communities, and we’re incredibly proud to support them throughout 2026.

Our chosen charities for the year are:

Berwick Garden Centre have chosen to support HospiceCare North Northumberland this year.

They delivery high-quality end-of-life palliative care in the comfort of the person’s own home. They also offer dementia and bereavement support.

Their mission is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to high-quality palliative care, close to home.

Dunbar Garden Centre will be supporting Dunbar Harbour Trust this year.

The decision to support Dunbar Harbour Trust was an easy one following the devastating fire at McArthur’s Store — Scotland’s oldest fishermen’s store — late last year. It’s a cause close to many locals’ hearts, and they need their community to rally together and help rebuild.

Plantsplus feels so strongly about its chosen cause that it has decided to continue supporting its 2025 Charity of the Year, Great North Air Ambulance.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAA) is an invaluable service to our region. They deliver pioneering pre-hospital care at the scene and rescue hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year.

They receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of the public.
